Archbishop Costelloe led the first speech for the Formation Day for the Archdiocesan Assembly, drawing upon the experience of the Fifth Plenary Council of Australia, and his role as President, in speaking about What is a Diocesan Assembly and the recommendations of a Diocesan Pastoral Council.

In the spirit of Pope Francis and in a bid to increase the involvement of Catholic youth in the life of the Church, the Archdiocese of Perth with Catholic Youth Ministry Perth embarked on a review process to look at the key challenges facing Catholic youth in Perth.

The 2023-2024 Perth Archdiocesan Assembly, continued Fr Vincent, is the first of its kind for the Archdiocese and was announced Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB in April 2023, and launched on Trinity Sunday 4 June 2023 at St Mary’s Cathedral.

Perth parishes are set to become host to the relics of one of the world’s most revered saints.
Among the revered sites to host the statue are St Mary’s Cathedral Perth, Kelmscott Parish Good Shepherd Church, Fremantle Parish St Patrick’s Basilica, Lockridge Parish Good Shepherd Church, and Banksia Grove Parish John Paul II Church.
