The Catholic Arts committee is this year honoured to introduce “The Spirit of the Arts” to the annual Performing Arts Festival. Staff and students of Catholic Education schools were present for the festival’s opening ceremony at St Mary’s Cathedral on 22 July, led by Fr Vincent Glynn EV.
Students from Sacred Heart College have led the way in promoting the bicentennial celebrations of Catholic Education, performing a song composed by Fr Rob Galea.
The Mercedes College community gathered on 9 March to commemorate 175 years since the college was founded by Mercy Sisters on 2 February 1846. The celebrations began with a Mass, followed by a range of art and fun activities throughout the day. By Amanda Murthy.
