Hailing from Tuticorin, South India and arriving in Perth on 10 December 1990 to serve in the Geraldton Diocese under then Bishop Barry Hickey, Fr Joseph has last month celebrated his 80th Birthday.

Upon being ordained at the age of 64, Fr Hogan’s first role was at Whitford Parish, Our Lady of the Mission Church, where he assisted then-Parish Priest, Fr Geoff Aldous. Last month he celebrated his 90th Birthday.

Perth Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton has last week Tuesday 7 February 2023 celebrated a milestone 70th birthday.

Bishop Sproxton was elected by Pope John Paul II to the episcopacy in December 2001 and ordained a bishop on 21 February 2002 at St Mary’s Cathedral.

Known affectionately as Bid to her family and friends, the 108-year-old Catholic Homes resident has seen many changes in Perth over the decades and she is astounded at the growth of the city.
