Lead researcher Prof Suzy Edwards said the new website is a go-to hub for early learning services and educators wanting to help children aged birth to eight years and their families be safe and active in the digital world.
The figures are part of a dataset captured in the Australian Childhood Maltreatment Study (ACMS) which revealed that 1 in 250 Australians have been sexually abused by a leader or other adult in a religious organisation in childhood.
The session helped to raise awareness of Elder Abuse and the Care Finders Program Initiative.
The award sets a benchmark for other church communities, showcasing how a dedicated team can create a safe environment.
The free event will look at elder abuse/staying safe, access to aged care and the care finders program and will take place Wednesday 5 June from 9.30am to 11am at Holy Trinity Church, 8 Burnett Street, Embleton.
