Perth man Sheldon Burke has last month commenced the last part of his journey to the priesthood, following his ordination to the Diaconate at Thornlie Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday 10 December by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB.

The Hobart Archdiocese has last week celebrated the ordination to the diaconate of Perth born Br John Joseph LEB from the Little Eucharistic Brothers of Divine Will.
His day of ordination belonged to the Church, the newly ordained deacon emphasised in his address after Mass, thanking the many who had been involved in his journey from its very beginning in Perth, Western Australia.

After attending St Joseph’s Primary Bunbury and then Newton Moore College, 29-year-old Nathan has this week recalled in a special interview that he first started thinking about a vocation to the priesthood in 2011.

Nathan will be ordained a Deacon by Bishop Gerard Holohan at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Bunbury, this Friday 8 October at 7pm.

Redemptoris Mater seminarian Felipe Fernandez will tonight be ordained to the Order of Deacon by Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton, at St Mary’s Cathedral.

Hailing originally from Colombia, Felipe recalls in a special interview for The Record that it was during his rebellious teenage years that he experienced a moment of enlightenment, asking God to intervene.

Redemptorist Mater seminarian Grzegorz Rapcewicz has spent 10 years discerning his vocation and is now set to be ordained to the Diaconate, en route to priesthood, on 12 August at St Mary’s Cathedral.
