The series follows Donny Dunn, a struggling comedian and bartender, who encounters Martha, a lonely woman who quickly fixates on him with alarming intensity.

Suspended from his job as the result of a scandal, a previously work-obsessed NFL coach temporarily relocates to his Texas hometown where his ex-wife and preteen son still live and, to bond with the alienated lad, joins the coaching staff of the boy’s Pop Warner football team.
