The annual Archbishop’s Secondary Schools Forum in support of LifeLink Day is an invitation to make sure that we never lose sight of those people in our society who are really in need, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB has said.

The free event will look at elder abuse/staying safe, access to aged care and the care finders program and will take place Wednesday 5 June from 9.30am to 11am at Holy Trinity Church, 8 Burnett Street, Embleton.

On the 1 March 1919 the Leederville Parish was established with Father Moloney appointed parish priest, with the Church opened in December 1923. This year, the Church celebrated the 100th anniversary.

Having originally started in a packing shed, the Maida Vale Parish community came together Sunday 7 April to celebrate the 50th anniversary of St Francis Assisi Church.

Ballajura Parish has marked 2024 with the dual anniversaries of the Parish and Church, celebrating with the blessing and unveiling of a new grotto of the Holy Family, a bush dance, a Mass with Archbishop Costelloe and a dinner with some 200 hundred guests.

The Mass has a history of use in Diocese of Broome for over 50 years and is celebrated in multiple local languages.

The day saw Rector Fr Francis Nguyen and Vice-Rector Fr Joseph Laundy and the St Charles seminarians hosting their guests starting with Holy Hour and Mass before a delicious brunch was served and enjoyed at the seminary’s communal dining area, accompanied by conversations and laughter.
