St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Bryan Pyne said he was proud to launch the plan during National Reconciliation Week, with a number of activities underway across the organisation’s hospitals and services to recognise the week.

The event was spearheaded by Fr Geoff Aldous, who says that it was “an exercise of community building” between four parishes including Rockingham Our Lady of Lourdes, Kwinana St Vincent’s, Port Kennedy Saint Bernadette’s and Baldivis St Teresa of Calcutta.

In ordaining Jupiter Bin Justin, Gionata Pagani and Marco Ferraioli to the Order of the Diaconate, Thursday 23 May at St Mary’s Cathedral, Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton said the three men have responded to the best of their abilities, human and spiritual, to an invitation to follow the call of the Lord.

“As graduates from a Catholic university, you are graduating from an institution which draws its inspiration and the very meaning of its existence from the life and teachings of the one who said, “I have come to bring life to all and bring life in all its fulness” (Jn 10:10),” Archbishop Costelloe emphasised.

The Vocations Afternoon Tea is part of a series of ongoing engagement aimed to support those who are discovering how to answer God’s call to serve others, through ordained ministry.
