Opened by Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB on Thursday 30 November, the new St Joseph’s Chapel at Irene McCormack College has marked a milestone in the College’s commitment to faith and community.

The occasion will mark 70 years since former Perth Archbishop Lancelot Goody blessed and dedicated the foundation stone of St Joseph’s Marist College, Subiaco, on Sunday 7 February 1954 heralding the Marist Order’s first metropolitan school in the WA.
The 36-year-old married father-of-two said he heard the Archbishop’s message during the LifeLink Christmas Appeal launch in November – particularly the words of St Mary MacKillop, “Never see a need without doing something about it,” and could foresee a good reason to ‘pay it forward’.
The appointment is in conjunction with Archbishop Costelloe’s concurrent appointments as a Member of the Preparatory Commission, and as one of the nine President Delegates to the Synod.
