Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB celebrated the Golden Jubilee Mass for the Congregation of the Mother of Sorrows on 5 December. Celebrated at Riverton Parish Our Lady Queen of the Apostle, Emeritus Archbishop Barry Hickey and Bishop of Bunbury Gerard Holohan, together with 19 other priests from across the Archdiocese of Perth concelebrated the Mass. Servite Sisters have dedicated their lives for the Church in Western Australia for the past fifty years. In his homily, Archbishop Costelloe said that to allow God enters our hearts and be a faithful disciple of Christ is an essential part of every Christian’s vocation. By Theresia Titus.
To allow God to enter our hearts and be a faithful disciple of Christ was the message Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB conveyed in his homily during the Golden Jubilee celebratory Mass for the Congregation of the Mother of Sorrows (Servite Sisters) on 5 December.
Though at first glance the grass is long and the grounds are quiet, as Sister Chitra leads the way through to the big shaded play area at the back of the Kora Centre, the sounds of little children happily talking and laughing as they eat a hot, nutritious meal can be heard and four smiling faces beam up at us from around the table.
