The Rite of Election 2024 Mass, held at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth is part of an ancient Catholic tradition where the catechumens and candidates are prepared to be received fully into the Catholic Church.

This year, 48 catechumens and 39 candidates across 21 parishes will receive the Rite of Election over two celebrations at St Mary’s Cathedral. By Amanda Murthy.
Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB has last week welcomed and supported the conversion journey of 43 catechumens and 35 candidates from various parishes from across the Perth Archdiocese, who seek to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church in 2021.
