The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program has last week shared the results of its largest ever parenting survey, which reveals the stark reality of cost-of-living pressures, emotional distress, sleep deprivation and concerns about social media and screen time on their kids’ mental health and wellbeing.

The study highlights that young people’s social relationships during these years impact their current and future health, wellbeing, learning, academic performance, and relationships with peers and family.

The researchers called for guidelines to change to discourage high levels of social media and internet use and adapt recommendations that promote the use of educational apps and video games.
