St Mary’s Cathedral Director of Music Jacinta Jakovcevic said the tour was a significant occasion for the Church in the regional area of WA – and in particular the local community of Mullewa and its surrounds.
The music for this years Orchestra Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral featured music from World Youth Day 2008 and also featured the music of recently knighted Sir John Rutter.
The members of the Vocal Ensemble come from varied backgrounds, including students and graduates from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and the University of Western Australia (UWA), as well as professional musicians and newcomers to the music profession.
The Little Ones, explained Armadale Parish Priest Fr Mark Baumgarten, is in many ways a continuation of his first album, Now and Not Yet, which was released in 2022.
Among the keynote speakers is academic director of the Notre Dame Centre for Liturgy and director of education at the McGrath Institute for Church Life, Professor Timothy O’Malley PhD.

Teenage band Vertigo, from Seton Catholic College, have professionally recorded two original songs at Vision Recording studios with Jon Clements. The band was awarded ‘most outstanding performance’ at the recent Catholic Performing Arts Festival last month.
