Some 10 priests celebrated anniversaries of 25, 40, 50 and 60 years in 2023. They were honoured during the annual priests and clergy Mass on 29 November.
Embleton Parish Historian Jackie Marrapodi explained to The Record that the parish came into being on 1 March 1964, in an area which had been part of the Parishes of Bayswater, Bedford and Morley.

Ordained in 1998, Fr Paul has this month celebrated his 25th anniversary to the priesthood, following four years of study in Rome, having also built two Churches in the parish of Gingin-Chittering.
Fellow clergy, parishioners young and old, friends and community members gathered in May to celebrate the Golden Jubilee and farewell of former Palmyra Parish Priest Fr Francis Ughanze, in which he spoke about the God’s love for each of us, and the role of the priest.
Those present enjoyed a varied day of musical recitals, lectures on the history and special features of the instrument, and a fine lunch in New Norcia’s St Ildephonsus’ College.

Celebrating the 90th anniversary of Sacred Heart Church, Mundaring Parish, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB explained that a priestly people will be a group of people who are prepared and willing and doing their very best to offer themselves for the sake of others.
“We’re all called to do that,” Archbishop Costelloe said.
