Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB has been announced as the new Chairman for the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Education Commission.
The announcement of Archbishop Costelloe’s appointment comes as the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference has appointed new membership to each of its commissions.
Gathered for their plenary meeting at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney, the bishops this week elected new chairmen of each commission.
Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton was also announced as Chairman of the Health and Community Services Commission.
Archbishop Costelloe was also named on the Doctrine and Morals Commission and Permanent Committee Commission while Bishop Don was also named on the Relations with Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders Commission.
Over the coming days, the bishops will elect delegates for each of the advisory councils to the commissions.
Membership of the permanent committee has also changed.
