St John of God Foundation, the philanthropic arm of St John of God Health Care, is celebrating three decades of support from individuals, families and organisations across the country for world-class health care, community support and research at St John of God Health Care hospitals and services.

As a not for profit, St John of God Health Care returns all surpluses to the communities it serves by providing social outreach services to people experiencing disadvantage, developing new services, investing in our people, and updating and expanding health care facilities, technology, and equipment.

The Sisters of St John of God established the Foundation in 1994 when they first recognised the need to raise funds for areas of unmet need in local communities.

“It is our privilege to continue the Sisters legacy and continue to innovate, as they did,” said St John of God Foundation CEO Bianca Pietralla.

“Contributions from compassionate individuals, families and organisations help to enable advanced treatments and transformational care that may not otherwise be possible.”

Over the past 30 years, more than $75 million has been donated by the community in support of St John of God Health Care patients and clients.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every individual, family, organisation, and caregiver who has donated, or generously given their time including our current and past Foundation Board members, third party fundraisers, volunteer fundraising committees and caregivers.

It’s only with your support, that we have been able to create transformational spaces for world-class health care, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, undertake leading medical research and support vulnerable young people through our community programs. Every story of human impact is a testament to your generosity,” Ms Pietralla said.

“As we commemorate this significant milestone of over 30 years of community support, we also look ahead to the future and how philanthropy will continue to shape health care,” she continued.

Building on our proud history and with the continued support of our amazing community, we look forward to many more years of making a difference to the health and lives of Australians.”
