St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals (SJG Midland PPH) celebrated its second birthday on Friday 24 November.
In a report sent to The eRecord, the hospital noted it has achieved significant milestones in its first two years of operation, while also experiencing a significant demand on its services.
SJG Midland PPH CEO Michael Hogan said he is extremely proud of the hospitals achievements over the past two years.
“Since opening SJGMPPH has undertaken 128,648 Emergency Department (ED) presentations, 199,777 outpatient appointments, 3,379 births and 27,224 procedures,” Mr Hogan said.
“In addition, the ED is seeing about 45 per cent more patients than were treated at the former Swan District Hospital’s ED.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to our caregivers for their efforts each and every day to ensure we provide high quality care to patients and the best possible services and outcomes to the community,” he said.
“As well as celebrating our second birthday, today is also about recognising the efforts and achievements of our caregivers and their contribution to the hospital’s success.”
As part of the celebrations, wards and departments have selected a cause to support and undertaken fundraising activities on the day.
Mr Hogan said SJG Midland PPH caregivers enjoy contributing to the community and it is hoped the fundraising will become an annual event.
SJG Midland PPH’s busiest days since opening include 232 ED presentations on 28 August 2017, 140 admissions on 3 May 2017, 69 procedures on 12 April 2017 and 13 births on 1 September 2016.
