On 24 October 2025, Padbury Catholic Primary School celebrated its 40th anniversary attended by more than 100 guests including past principals, students, staff, parents and members of the broader community.

An inspiring community liturgy celebrated by Whitford Parish Priest Fr Cyprian Shikokoti set the tone for the entire day.

Song and liturgical dance filled the hall with energy and spirit – a reminder of the faith, unity and sense of community that has been at the heart of Padbury Catholic Primary School since its foundation.

In her address, founding Principal, Sister Carmel Wringe, took the audience on a journey through the early days of the school.

Her words were a fitting tribute to the generations of students, staff and families who have contributed to its legacy.

Current Principal, Margaret Williamson, thanked Sr Carmel and all those who came before her.

“Thank you for planting the seeds of this beautiful community,” she said. “To our staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication. To our students, thank you for the joy and inspiration you bring every day. To our parents and parish, thank you for walking this journey with us.

“Today, we gather as one community to celebrate an extraordinary milestone – forty years of Padbury Catholic Primary School, forty years of faith, learning, service and community.

“As I stand here today, reflecting on the last seven years of serving as Principal, I am filled with immense gratitude for the journey we have shared and the progress we have made together. It has been a period of growth, challenges, and, above all, rewarding experiences. I am so proud of all that we have achieved as a community,” she added.

Speaking further to community, Mrs Williamson also highlighted the school’s growth and diversity, its commitment to encouraging students to live out Mercy values, the dedication of staff, support of parents and resilience of students.

At the conclusion of the liturgy invited guests gathered for morning tea while the students also enjoyed a special morning tea that was organised by the staff.

Following morning tea, guests had an opportunity to explore the History Wall and Memorabilia display, visit the classrooms and learn more about some of the special facilities including the welcome courtyard, art and drama studio and sensory garden.

In the afternoon, the students participated in friendly tabloid sports.

The 40th anniversary celebrations were a reminder of the strength and spirit of the Padbury Catholic Primary School community that is built on the trust, generosity, and commitment of its members both past and present.
