Talents and creativity in the arts was evident at Chisholm Catholic College’s 2021 Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition at Chisholm College. The 2021 Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition at Chisholm College was officially opened on Monday 18 October with an outstanding array of talent on display.

The official proceedings opened with an energetic performance by our Chisholm’s Got Talent finalists, who came back from study leave to perform Danza by Lucky Chops.

The ceremony recognised 75 students for their exemplary work, and they received awards in the Learning Areas of: Business and Information Technology, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Media and Photography.

A statement issued by the College expressed that staff are “immensely proud of their exceptional work and thankful for the commitment of staff from those Learning Areas, their dedication is inspirational as they cultivate the talents of our students.”

The College also inaugurated a special award, the Tina Sacino Award for the Most Promising Senior Artist. The award was named in honour of Chisholm’s beloved staff member Tina Sacino who passed away last year.

“The significance of her contribution to Arts education at the College and impact on staff and students alike cannot be expressed enough and we were grateful to have Tina’s family members with us on the night when the award was presented,” the statement read.

Once opened, the exhibition was enjoyed by various community members including parents, students and special guests who enjoyed the service of food and drinks from our Home Economics students as they viewed the works.

During the week the exhibition was open to the community and was enjoyed by Primary Schools, parents, and visiting Year 7 grandparents, during our annual Grandparents’ Morning.
