In our rapidly changing world, ethics in leadership is more important than ever across all sectors – so choose a university that teaches you to think and act ethically.

Whether you dream of working in healthcare, business, education or law, the study of ethics is embedded into every degree at The University of Notre Dame Australia to empower future leaders to make a positive impact in their workplace and communities.

Approaching the start of the academic year, the University is excited to welcome students back on campus for most tutorials, labs, simulations and workshops, as well as a range of student activities, while lectures will remain online.

There’s still time to apply to study at Notre Dame in Semester 1, 2021, and a recent Federal Government funding decision is set to give Notre Dame’s domestic students support towards the cost of their undergraduate degree.

Notre Dame’s shift to becoming a Table A university means that, from January 2021, if you choose study at the University you will have access to a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), reducing the amount you will pay in tuition fees for undergraduate courses.

Notre Dame Business student Heath Cauchi was pleased to hear the change will apply to continuing students, as well as the new cohort. “I think this will even-out the decision making for incoming students. Some people are more concerned about the costs of university than others, and this news means that they can now make a decision based on what’s best for them from a purely educational point of view,” he said.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Francis Campbell, also welcomed the news, saying: “I believe these changes to funding are not only an endorsement of Notre Dame and the outstanding education provided to our students, but also the significant contribution our graduates make to Australian society.”

Notre Dame University is known for its excellent student experience and was ranked the number one university in Australia for Overall Satisfaction of graduates in the Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020 (qilt.edu.au). This additional Commonwealth Government funding offers students from low SES and remote, regional backgrounds equitable access to study at a university invested in their future as ethical leaders in their communities.

“At Notre Dame, we want our students not only to have the theoretical knowledge and the technical and professional skills to succeed in their careers but to be ethical citizens, willing to address the developments and challenges of the modern world and to serve the common good,” says Professor Campbell.

Dr Annette Watkins, Notre Dame’s Master of Leadership program coordinator, believes that good leaders value diversity and need to be able to support others and deal with the ‘soft’ side of leadership – the people side.

“We operate in a very agile environment now,” says Dr Watkins. “We’re being told that we have to fail fast and constantly change, and soft skills help us cope in times of uncertainty and change.” At Notre Dame the focus is on equipping you with the fundamentals of ethics and critical thinking so you are prepared to respond to challenges in the workplace and thrive in an era of unprecedented change.
