Identitywa has last month signed a collaborative agreement that will result in the construction of six residential homes for Identitywa participants.

Identitywa Board Chair Graeme Mander and Managing Director of Zorzi Group, David Reynolds, signed the agreement in February 2021.

Construction will be overseen by Zorzi Group General Manager, Danielle Devereux and Director, Wayne Randall, with the newly constructed homes utilising innovative methods from a ‘state of the art’ Perth based manufacturing facility.

This will be delivered in line with INKA by Zorzi’s precision in craftsmanship and focus on energy efficient sustainable living.

The progressive construction method will see significant reductions in build timeframes, adding tremendous value in addressing the housing shortage that is currently impacting Western Australia.

“Our collaboration with Zorzi and INKA will create houses designed around the specific needs of people with disability, which is a perfect fit with our vision to build a community where all people live with a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging and a sense of wellbeing,” said Identitywa Board Chair, Graeme Mander.

The homes will be architecturally designed to accommodate three people with their own bedroom and ensuite and spacious indoor and outdoor living areas.

“This is a very exciting time for us,” said Identitywa CEO, Marina Re.

“Our Board recognised some time ago the growing need to provide modern, well designed and fully accessible homes for people with disability who require housing.

“We are delighted to be working with the team at Zorzi and INKA. This important initiative is one of the focus areas of our 2025 Strategy,” said Marina.

“We are looking forward to the outcomes of this project which promises to be delivered faster and more efficiently than traditional building methods, including the latest smart technology and environmental features while complying to all the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Schemes’ Specialist Disability Accommodation Standards for Improved Liveability,” said Marina.

There is currently a shortage of accessible housing in the Perth metropolitan area and Identitywa is hoping that this partnership will lead the way in creating more opportunities for people to live in quality homes of their choice.

A registered NDIS provider, Identitywa is one of WA’s leading agencies supporting people with disability to live the life they choose.  We offer a wide variety of services including Supported Independent Living with over 45 houses located across the Perth metropolitan area.
