Residents at Southern Cross Care’s (SCC) Success Retirement Village are set to benefit from access to convenient onsite medical services at the new Southern Plus Health and Wellness Clinic located within the Village.
The Southern Plus Health and Wellness Clinic is an exclusive service available to village residents.
It is the first of its kind for a retirement village in the Success area, and will initially offer onsite GP services with additional medical and allied health services to be offered in the future.
Errol Turner, Southern Cross Care Chief Executive, said the Southern Plus Health and Wellness Clinic was developed in response to feedback from Success Village residents who said they wanted more convenient access to onsite health and wellness services.
“We know that residents at Success Village, like many people in the surrounding community, want to remain independent and living in their own home as long as possible, but want the peace of mind knowing they are able to access conveniently located medical services if or when they need them,” Mr Turner explained.
“Research has also shown how important it is for older people to have a trusted GP who can identify any health issues that may need to be addressed, and who can provide advice and support with any care needs that may be required.
“That is why we have ensured that all of the medical staff at the Southern Plus Health and Wellness clinic are trained to understand the health issues that are unique to seniors and are committed to helping residents remain living independently regardless of any health issues they may have.”
Mr Turner said he is confident the new health and wellness clinic will provide numerous benefits for Success Village residents, including easy walkable access to the clinic, which will initially operate two days a week.
“We are committed to providing residents at Success Village with the best possible retirement lifestyle, and we believe the new health and wellness clinic will not only be a great addition to the many amenities that residents already enjoy, but will support them to remain living independently in their own home,” he concluded.
