Catholic education in Leederville is about to enter an exciting new phase with Aranmore Catholic Primary School and Aranmore Catholic College to be amalgamated from the beginning of 2026.

Following endorsement by Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB and having received Department of Education approval, Aranmore Catholic Primary School and Aranmore Catholic College will form a single Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) College.

The amalgamation will be finalised ahead of the 2026 school year.

It comes following a consultation process throughout 2024 which found an amalgamation would provide renewed opportunities for student leadership and mentoring opportunities for staff and students whilst presenting the schools with a unique opportunity to create a joint Vision for Learning that is reflective of the community’s needs.

Catholic Education WA Executive Director, Wayne Bull said over the past two decades there have been several conversations regarding an amalgamation of the two schools.

“This new phase of Catholic education in Leederville future-proofs the provision of high-quality education for our families in the area,” Mr Bull said.

“We will use this school year to work with our parents and staff to develop the identity of this new K-12 College, whilst honouring the rich shared background of both schools.”
