Catholic Homes Duncraig Trinity Village has this month celebrated its 25 year anniversary.

The anniversary, on 8 November, began with a welcoming speech by Facility Manager Evelyne Stothard and was followed by a Welcome to Country by Executive Manager Mission Bernadette Brady.

The event also saw speakers such as John Ogilvie, Catholic Homes’ Board Chairman; Mary Jane Wilson, Trinity Village’s inaugural Facility Manager; and Ian Goyder OAM, Chairman of the Trinity Village ILV Residents’ Committee.

In his speech, Mr Ogilvie recognised 25 years of Trinity Village, its values and vision, the distinct and innovative site, and looked forward to the future of the facility.

Ms Wilson told her story on her experience working at Trinity Village, while Mr Goyder spoke about his experience on moving into Trinity Village.

Speaking to The eRecord, Ms Stothard said there are 39 aged care (hostel) residents living in seven different cluster homes, and 34 independent living units.

Past and present Trinity Village residents and staff also joined the occasion; with hostel residents put together four photo boards showing the past and current activities, as well as the lifestyle at Trinity.

“Very positive feedback from all residents and guests of how nice it was to all join together as one family to celebrate and meet the Board members as well as past staff of Trinity,” Ms Stothard said.

The celebration concluded with a blessing ceremony by Fr Ken Keating, who is also a resident at the facility, and a concluding speech by Ms Brady followed by an afternoon tea.

Catholic Homes stated that it is committed to “creating a home-like environment for all faiths and backgrounds while promoting independence”.

“With the care model ‘Care with Purpose’, and based on Montessori principles, Catholic Homes has been caring for ageing Western Australians for more than 50 years and proudly advocates the Values of Joy, Love and Hospitality.”

Trinity Village residents enjoy a coastal location set within landscaped gardens, daily-prepared meals by the facility’s in-house chef, various activities, pastoral care, and regular health and wellbeing classes.

“Our residents have more choices and independence with their daily living, and we have residents that assist with ironing, setting of the dining tables, day-to-day household chores and assisting in the kitchen,” Ms Stothard concluded.
