Continuing its Christian duty to provide the works of the Catholic Church humbly to all who can benefit from them, The University of Notre Dame has this month commenced special financial aid for students affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The “COVID-19 Student Hardship Assistance Fund” is part of a comprehensive support package that has been set up in direct response to the challenges many of its students are currently facing.

The support package is an extension of UNDA’s commitment to pastoral care.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Francis Campbell believes the hardship fund is an important initiative in an unprecedented time, which will help alleviate the hardship some students are experiencing.

“Any student facing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic will have the support of the University to get through this challenging time and be able to continue receiving the high standard of education they expect from the University,” Prof Campbell affirmed.

Including increased student support, counselling and pastoral services, as well as access to the emergency support, the package aims to provide students with the critical support they need during their studies at UNDA.

The COVID-19 Student Hardship Assistance Fund will be made available by the ongoing generosity of donors to the University.

It will provide up to $1000 per student for emergency assistance.
