As a leading scholar in theology and social theory, Tracey Rowland’s appointment to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences is not only a great achievement for her personally, but also for the University of Notre Dame, which is renowned for its high-quality research.

Under the partnership, St John of God has provided $160,000 in scholarship funding that will support four of the University’s Indigenous medical students over the four years of their postgraduate degree program.

UNDA theology lecturer Dr Lawrence Pang has this week spoken firsthand of his recent journey to Israel, together with Masters of Education students, highlighting how walking through Israel has provided greater ‘on the ground’ insights into the historical, geographical, and cultural nuances of the land.

The nationally accredited course will teach students how to respond to people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, giving them the confidence to start a conversation that could save a life.

Facilitated by visiting scholar Fr Eamonn Conway, the talk series Synodality and The Future of The Catholic Church: A Journey Towards Communion, Participation and Mission was held at the Centre for Faith Enrichment on Thursdays 2 March and 9 March attracted more than 40 participants who were able to ask questions throughout the sessions.

The BJ Hickey Scholarship is back in full swing doing what it does best – equipping students to travel interstate and around the world in their pursuit of the study of Word of God.
