One of eight outreach services delivered by St John of God Health Care, Horizon House provides safe, stable accommodation to young people aged 16-22 years who are currently experiencing or are at risk of homelessness.
St John of God Health Care has opened two new Head to Health adult mental health services in Gosnells and Mirrabooka to provide free advice, support and, if needed, assessment and treatment for people in these communities experiencing stress, anxiety and other mental health and wellbeing concerns.
Mr Moore is highly respected for his outstanding credentials in Catholic leadership and governance with nearly 20 years’ experience in broad-ranging roles.
St John of God Health Care Group CEO Bryan Pyne said the redevelopment would build on the hospital’s proud 125-year legacy of delivering quality, patient-centred care.
Under the partnership, St John of God has provided $160,000 in scholarship funding that will support four of the University’s Indigenous medical students over the four years of their postgraduate degree program.
Speaking on the 125th anniversary of St John of God Subiaco Hospital Chief Executive Officer Tina Chinery said the Hospital is an iconic Western Australian organisation and one that many residents have a connection with.
“There are those who were born here or gave birth here, those who have been healed here, and those whose loved ones have been comforted here in their final hours,” Ms Chinery said.
Mr Pyne has extensive experience in health care, including more than 20 years at St John of God Health Care where he has held a range of senior executive positions within hospitals and at corporate head office.
Funding will directly help families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery at both St John of God Murdoch and St John of God Subiaco Hospitals, through the purchase of ‘Angel Eyes’ camera systems.
Haus Bung, located in Madang on Papua New Guinea’s north coast, is the nation’s first clubhouse for people experiencing mental health issues and was established by St John of God International Health on behalf of the Brothers of St John of God.
