The role of women in the Church’s history and now, was celebrated by the Archdiocese of Perth – recognising the endless contributions of those serving within the context of Catholic Churches, parishes, schools, hospitals and religious sisters who play a significant role in living out their vocation, in Australia and around the world. The University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) continues its research in medical cannabis for eligible patients with dementia despite the many issues around borders, importing medical supplies, lock downs, and the obstacles of getting into aged care facilities to reach patients.

Oliva, 22, could not read, write or count, and her business was losing money. Then she attended Caritas Australia-supported literacy and numeracy classes and set up a home classroom to teach her neighbours.

The Academy is
about to launch for another year, and applications are closing soon. For five years,
the academy has provided formation and training for aspiring young leaders,
impacting over 60 schools and parishes across the Archdiocese of Perth.

Ahead of Lent, the faithful gathered at Saint Mary’s Cathedral on 16 February for an evening of prayer and healing of mind, body and spirit. Catholic evangelist Alan Ames shared his experiences and led a healing talk while encouraging those present to ‘open their hearts to Jesus.’
