Perth parishes are set to become host to the relics of one of the world’s most revered saints.
Among the revered sites to host the statue are St Mary’s Cathedral Perth, Kelmscott Parish Good Shepherd Church, Fremantle Parish St Patrick’s Basilica, Lockridge Parish Good Shepherd Church, and Banksia Grove Parish John Paul II Church.
At the heart of these celebrations is a nationwide tour of the relics of St John Bosco, the 19th-century priest renowned for his commitment to the education and empowerment of underprivileged youth.
As part of Archbishop Costelloe’s 2023 LifeLink Day for Primary Schools initiative, students were invited to create a collage that visually expressed their learning and educational experience resulting from LifeLink Day.

Celebrating the 90th anniversary of Sacred Heart Church, Mundaring Parish, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB explained that a priestly people will be a group of people who are prepared and willing and doing their very best to offer themselves for the sake of others.
“We’re all called to do that,” Archbishop Costelloe said.
In a media statement released this week, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe highlighted that the government’s intention to introduce legislation to make access to abortion easier, while reportedly based on a consultation process which indicated broad public support for such a move, will be distressing for many people.
