A welcoming home with support that is tailored to individual needs, can change a life.

That belief is central to Identitywa’s commitment to creating purpose-built homes across the Perth metropolitan area for people with disabilities.

Working closely with families, investors and the WA Government, Identitywa is developing modern homes that offer access to family networks, local amenities and friendly housemates. A place where participants can feel connected and actively engaged with their community.

Featuring spacious bedrooms with accessible ensuites, open plan kitchens and level entrances, the homes are designed to cater to a range of abilities.

Sensory friendly design features have also been incorporated to create supportive environments tailored to individual needs.

In addition, Identitywa’s support teams work with participants and their families to understand what matters most to them. This provides for person-centred support, choice and independence and an environment for people to thrive.

“We are committed to providing homes that are the foundation for belonging, independence and dignity,” said Marina Re, Identitywa Chief Executive Officer.

“Our dedicated teams walk alongside the people we support every day, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to live in a space that truly reflects what matters most to them.”

Michael has a long connection with Identitywa spanning many years. In partnership with Identitywa, his family built two houses, one for Michael and two housemates and a second house for two other housemates.

The homes are located close to Michael’s family home, so he can enjoy regular visits and stay closely connected to them.

Sharyn recently moved into her new home in Belmont – one of two recently competed homes.

“Sharyn’s home sits on a lovely spacious corner block, offering her open space and easy access to and between the two homes,” said Sharyn’s brother, Phil.

Built on long-term relationships and support from the WA Government which continues to provide land access and sustainable, community centred housing options, Identitywa’s recent projects include:

  • Four new homes in collaboration with Wholesale Securities
  • Two new homes in cooperation with the Viney family
  • A partnership with Jarra, to build sixteen new homes

Identitywa was founded in 1977 by a group of Catholic families who saw a future in which their children with disability received quality care and support. Today, they see a future in which all people with disability live with a sense of purpose, belonging and wellbeing.
