Catholic Mission has announced its new look Mission: one heart many voices national conference will return in 2027 from 3-5 May at the SMC Conference and Function Centre in Sydney.

The announcement, made during NAIDOC Week, reflects the committee’s commitment to reconciliation and to journeying together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The eighth Mission conference will feature nationally recognised speakers, practical workshops, immersive experiences and expanded opportunities for networking, prayer and formation designed to foster encounter and collaboration.

Director of Mission Formation at Catholic Mission and Conference Committee member, Jenny Collins-White, said the announcement during NAIDOC Week was a conscious decision made in consultation with the Sydney Catholic Aboriginal Ministry who are represented on the conference committee.

“We wanted to acknowledge that reconciliation is an essential part of the Church’s missionary journey…a shared commitment to walking together in a spirit of healing, respect and hope,” she said.

Following the 2025 conference, an extensive review was conducted, the feedback from which has directly shaped the 2027 event.

“People told us they were looking for a space where they could connect across ministries, share experiences and be renewed in mission,” explained Conference Director, Danielle Achikian.

“Along with a refreshed visual identity and new program, we have reimagined the conference experience to create an even more welcoming and engaging space.

“With the encouragement and support of our Reference Committee, including Bishop of Broome Tim Norton SVD, we are excited to invite both returning and first-time participants to join us for this next chapter.”

Additional information, including registrations and speaker announcements, will be released in the coming months.
