St John of God Health Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth (Liz) Spaull as Chief Operating Officer.
A respected leader with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience within the private acute and mental health hospital sectors, including a decade with St John of God Health Care, Liz has acted in the Chief Operating Officer role since November 2025.

As a Registered Nurse, Liz brings a strong clinical foundation to the position, together with deep operational expertise.
St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Bryan Pyne said Liz has consistently demonstrated the ability to translate strategy into operational performance while maintaining an unwavering focus on patient safety, quality and caregiver engagement.
“Liz’s appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening operational excellence across our hospitals and services as we continue to deliver on our operational and strategic priorities,” Mr Pyne said.
“Liz’s understanding of frontline care, combined with her leadership experience, positions her strongly to guide our operations into the future.
“As Chief Operating Officer, Liz’s primary responsibility will be the operational performance across all our hospitals and services, working closely with the Executive and broader leadership teams, ensuring that St John of God Health Care continues to deliver high-quality, compassionate care while advancing our operational and strategic priorities.”
Mr Pyne said the appointment reflected Liz’s proven track record and the organisation’s confidence in her ability to lead at scale.
“We are delighted to see such a capable and values-aligned leader step into this critical role,” he added.
