Identitywa has announced an important and exciting transition, moving its operations to a new incorporated legal entity, Identitywa Disability Services Limited, starting this September.
“This change is for administration purposes only and will not affect our mission, services, or commitment to the people we support,” said Marina Re, CEO of Identitywa.
“This transition better reflects our ongoing growth and our position as a leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider,” she explained.
Identitywa Disability Services Limited will continue to provide vital support to over 300 individuals with disabilities and their families, maintaining its firm foundation in Catholic values and identity.
The Archbishop of Perth will remain as the sole member of the new entity, underscoring the organisation’s continued deep connection to the Archdiocese of Perth.
“We are deeply grateful for the Archdiocese of Perth’s enduring support and guidance for five decades throughout our journey,” Marina added.
“Their role has been central to our development as a trusted pillar of support.”
Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB expressed his strong support for the transition, acknowledging the careful discernment involved in this significant change to Identitywa’s governance structure.
“The Archdiocese of Perth will continue to provide support for Identitywa Disability Services Limited and its people,” Archbishop Costelloe stated.
“I look forward to continuing the mutually beneficial relationship focused on serving people with a disability along with their families and carers.”
Marina emphasised that the transition process is being managed carefully to avoid disruptions to participants, families, or workers. Identitywa plans to retain its entire workforce, whose dedication and expertise have been central to the organisation’s continued success.
“We are excited about the opportunities this change brings as we move into this new chapter,” said Marina.
“Our faith-based mission to deliver person-centred support remains unchanged, and our connection to the Archdiocese continues to be the core of our identity and our culture.”
The move reflects Identitywa’s commitment to adapting to meet the growing needs within the disability support sector, while continuing to uphold its longstanding traditions and core values.
