This Mother’s Day, the Perth Catholic community is invited to celebrate the beauty and sacredness of motherhood through the universal language of music.

On Sunday 11 May, Catholic Mission will host Mother of Hope, a special sacred music concert for the Jubilee Year of Hope, to be held at St Columba’s Church, South Perth, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

The recital will feature performances by some of Perth’s finest musicians, including acclaimed violinist Paul Wright and soprano Emma Spadacini, in an uplifting and prayerful program of choral and instrumental music.

“This concert is a unique and deeply spiritual way to honour mothers and grandmothers,” said a Catholic Mission spokesperson.

“It’s the only event of its kind in Perth this Mother’s Day weekend, offering a liturgical musical experience that connects family celebration with faith and mission.”

Following the concert, guests are invited to enjoy Devonshire Tea in the gardens of St Columba’s, overlooking stunning views of the Swan River.

With limited seating available, early booking is encouraged.

Tickets are $40 per person for the concert and $10 per person for the optional Devonshire Tea. Bookings can be made via TryBooking.

Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting vulnerable mothers in Zambia, many of whom are affected by poverty and food insecurity.
