The St Vincent de Paul Society is seeking volunteers to help raise vital funds in the Perth CDB on Friday 8 September for the Vinnies Annual Street Appeal.

The Appeal will be running from 7am to 6pm, with prospective volunteers being able to donate their time for 1 hour or half a day – all support is appreciated.

St Vincent de Paul Society’s Fundraising and Event Coordinator Stephanie Rullo, said all funds raised from the day enabled Vinnies to continue its important work in providing emergency relief and support to families and individuals experiencing hardship.

“The Society responds to welfare needs in the community by providing emergency relief by way of food, clothing, household items and financial assistance,” Ms Rullo said.

“Many people are doing it tough at the moment and as a result we have more and more people turning to us for help,” she said.

“We encourage corporate groups, schools or individuals to get involved and collect on behalf of Vinnies.

“Many people really enjoy the experience and the interaction with the community and often come back surprised at how much fun they had,” Ms Rullo explained.

Nova radio’s Casanovas will also be coming to the CBD on the day adding to the atmosphere and excitement.

Volunteers are supplied with everything they need so all that is necessary is to pick a corner or walk through the Perth CBD to collect donations.
