The 26th annual Flame Ministries International Congress will aim to make Jesus known in an experiential way so that healing, the knowledge of God, and salvation are evident.

In speaking to The eRecord about the event, Flame Ministries International founder Eddie Russell recalled the words of Jesus when he said, “Salvation is this; to know God and the one he sent, Jesus Christ”.

Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe will also speak at the Congress.

Mr Russell added that each speaker is excellently gifted in addressing the theme of the 2016 Congress – WAY, TRUTH, LIFE, which was developed by FMI member Kaye Rollings.

Ms Rollings said the theme is symbolic of the Trinity. “Jesus is the Way, God the Father is Truth, the Holy Spirit is Life,” Ms Rollings said.

“Truth has many faces and is an objective concept related to each person’s view of reality. What is real to one person may not be real to another because of differing points of view.

“So, what remains? God remains.”

Ms Rollings went on to say that the Congress will help attendees to understand that, while humanity asks the questions, faith gives us the answers.

“It is through faith that our lives are opened to the wonder of God’s love for us.”

Mr Russell added that all the speakers for the 2016 Congress will be able to give attendees an insight into how, through faith, we can overcome anything.

“Each speaker has international recognition for preaching and healing in its various aspects of life,” Mr Russell said.

A special feature for the 2016 Congress is the new song FMI music director Patrick Carre FMI has written and produced.

To celebrate the evangelical group’s Jubilee year in 2015, Mr Carre produced an album, entitled Hope, that features all the songs he has written for the Congress over the years.

“As and when the speakers feel moved by the Spirit, prayer and healing ministry will be available and our prayer ministers will be there to assist, as needed,” Mr Russell said.

“The Way, Truth, Life Congress is leading up to be a significant event in the Perth Archdiocese.

“To gain the greater benefit of this Congress, we encourage you to attend the whole weekend, and, where you can, bring the sick and the lost.”

Mr Russell also added that the evening sessions are free, and noted that assistance to attend the registered sessions is provided for those experiencing financial difficulty.
