The Diocese of Geraldton has launched a significant conservation initiative in 2025, focusing on the restoration and preservation of two of its most cherished heritage sites.
Leading up to a historical first Assembly of a Synod for the Diocese of Geraldton, listening sessions have been held which has given rise to a working document that will form the basis of the Assembly.
The Foundation launch keynote address was delivered by UNDA Chancellor, the Hon Christopher Ellison who spoke about the importance of built heritage, arts and crafts and history in defining communities and strengthening its wellbeing.
Religious life, said Geraldton Emeritus Bishop Bianchini, is very similar to the actions of Mary and Joseph who presented the baby Jesus in the temple.
The St Mary’s Cathedral musicians and choir have been keeping busy, as they continue to inspire young people to serve within the community and beyond. The group have recently participated in several events including Dante 700 at Boola Bardip Museum, Geraldton Blessing of the Fleet and held its’ latest Young Organist camp. By Amanda Murthy.
